The Guardian - Relaunch

A space for hope.

In January 2018 The Guardian relaunched its apps, website and printed newspaper. The newspaper was to be relaunched in tabloid format, moving from the beloved Berliner format. The work was informed and inspired by editor-in-chief Katharine Viner’s purpose for The Guardian: A Mission For Journalism in a Time of Crisis. The campaign was created with Karmarama, with me as Creative Director for The Guardian. The film is narrated by Maxine Peake.

The rebrand (video below) which we created in collaboration with The Guardian’s editorial design team and Multi Adaptor, was awarded a Wood Pencil in Branding at D&AD in 2018:
